Amazon's new Kindles hit UK shelves today

The iPad Mini and Google Nexus 7 will have some fresh-faced competition in the 7in tablet arena as Amazon's Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire are unleashed upon the UK today.

The £160 Kindle Fire HD and £130 Kindle Fire will also be joined by the new Kindle Paperwhite (£110, £170 with 3G), providing a formidable trio of Amazon-forged slates to give Apple and Google a run for their money this Christmas.
