Awards Winner
Packing its Pro sibling's punch and plenty of clever tech, but without the painful price tag, this is high-flying aerial action shooting for the smartphone-toting masses. Superb fun.

The runners-up

Its shell might look familiar, but this boxy beauty properly puts the Pro in Go. Dazzlingly detailed 4K, silky slo-mo and multiple manual modes make the Black a behemoth of bash-proof brilliance.

Dropping 4K in favour of weight-shedding wizardry, the 74g Session is a dice-like dinky dream. Virtually impossible to injure, its one-tap approach is augmented by app-controlled smarts.

Offering a front-facing, user-pannable 180° field of view, the BeBop is a full-HD flier that’s best buds with your iPad. Think of it as a do-it-all drone ideal for mid-altitude social shooting.

Packing footage quality over feature quantity, Sony’s premium ‘Pro rival is a 4K capper without the gimmicks. Bulkier than we’d like, it’s best attached to helmets for 30fps hi-res hijinks.

Smartphone savvy for easy sharing, the GPS gurus' first foray into wallop-proof filming auto-tags clips with your bumps and flights to make editing, uploading and sharing a cinch.
