The Pebble Time Round just got a seriously stylish new look

Pebble goes for gold, but only for Kickstarter backers

Is your wrist looking a little bare while you wait for the Pebble 2 to turn up?

Pebble’s got two stylish stopgaps that could keep you ticking over, updating the Pebble Time Round with polished Gold and Silver finishes.

The new-look models were shown off on the Pebble blog today, and just like every other eInk smartwatch from the company before and since, it’ll be hitting Kickstarter first.

If you slap down $199 now, you’ll get one before anyone else when they start shipping in September – plus you’ll get a free laser engraving thrown into the bargain.

A genuine leather strap completes the look, but the easily swappable lugs will work with any 20mm band.

Beyond the shiny new stainless steel finish, the new models are the same great e-ink smartwatch underneath. That means an always-on display, built-in mic for voice control, Pebble Health activity tracking and up to two days of battery life between charges.

Smartphone notifications, on-watch apps, and support for the incredibly cool Pebble Core are baked-in as well. It’ll work with the upcoming Pebble 4.0 OS, too, so you don’t have to worry about being left behind once the Pebble 2 turns up.

Even if you miss out on the Kickstarter frenzy, Pebble will be putting the new colours on sale once it’s sent one to every crowdfunding backer.
