Virgin Media outs Tivo Spotify app

Tune into Spotify on your TV with Virgin media Tivo

Virgin Media’s plans to stream Spotify through your telly has gone official today with the arrival of its dedicated Spotify Tivo app. It’s the first time the super-popular music streaming service has been directly available through a TV in the UK. Even better, it means you’ll be able to take full advantage of your bass-shaking home cinema setup.

Available exclusively to Spotify Premium users as part of the recently announced collaboration deal between the two companies, the app can be found sitting in the Apps and Games section and, once set up, you can rock out to your favourite tunes through your TV and easily browse playlists, albums and artists and using the TiVo remote control.

Last month, Virgin Media announced its plans to chuck in Spotify Premium deals with its mobile and broadband contracts, entitling new and existing users to six months of music streaming. Once the six months entitlement expires, a £9.99 charge will be added to to your monthly bill.

Pay monthly customers get the Premium service for three months for nothing and as a major bonus, Virgin Media Mobile customers will be able to use Spotify on their phones without being hit with any data charges, or having a chunk taken out of their phone’s data allowance.

The Virgin Media Tivo app is available now, so we guess it’s time to start getting those playlists ready for your Christmas shindig.
