New Sony Bloggie Live camera shoots, scores and streams live footage

We always liked Sony’s Bloggie (and Bloggie HD) pocket cameras. But in an age of HD-shooting smartphones, we’d started to neglect them. Now Sony has launched its 2012 Bloggie Live cameras that have built-in Wi-Fi to livestream footage as you shoot.
Full HD video and 12.8MP stills can be shared instantly from Sony’s Bloggie Live (MHS-TS55) via Qik Video, the mobile video sharing service owned by Skype. Comments from your virtual audience are then displayed on the 3in touchscreen. Fear not, nostalgia fans, for an HD copy will be preserved on the Bloggie Live’s 8GB memory.
A second Sony pocket camera – the 4GB Bloggie Sport (MHS-TS22) – is a ruggedised shooter that lacks the Bloggie Live’s livestreaming skills. Expect the pair to hit the UK soon with a price tag around £160. Hopefully before those pesky smartphones catch on...
