More news about the upcoming release of Guitar Hero 4 is filtering through the rockvine. Deceased real life guitar hero, Jimi Hendrix, is set to be a playable character, with Activision promising that Purple Haze (Live) recorded in 1969 at the San Diego Sports Arena and The Wind Cries Mary will be on the set list. That’s just the start, as more tracks are to follow as downloadable content in due course. It leads us to wonder what he would make of Guitar Hero were he still around. Would he have endorsed it himself, even? Groups of people playing on plastic instruments in front of a TV? It’s all a bit like something from an LSD-fuelled dream.Whether you actually ‘hear’ Jimi, or just listen to him, it sounds like good news to us.
