Bang & Olufsen launches BeoLit 12 AirPlay speaker

Wireless AirPlay speaker is first of "more accessibly priced" new B&O Play range

Long known for producing exceedingly expensive, uber-designed electronic gizmos, Bang & Olufsen is dipping its toe into the affordable kit market with its new B&O Play line.

The first addition to the range is the BeoLit 12 Wireless Speaker, which comes packing a 120w amp and AirPlay compatibility alongside two 2in tweeters and a 4in woofer. As well as AirPlay connectivity, you also get USB and 3.5mm stereo out jacks

It’s all packaged up in a rather lovely frame that’s inspired by vintage transistor radios.

Of course, “affordable” is a relative term, and the BeoLit 12 will still burn a £575-sized hole in your wallet when it goes on sale at the end of the month.

Still, £575 for a bit of Bang & Olufsen kit is pretty good. You’d almost think there was a recession on, or something.
