This is what the new Facebook looks like
Facebook has announced an update to its news feed which will be rolled out over the coming weeks. Want to see how it'll appear on your screens? Scroll on, dear reader.

Facebook News Feed – the look
This is the new look News Feed. It serves up all the same news you had before, but with a fresh layout – stories now highlight the subjects that your friends are sharing. Photos, news articles, maps and events have all been enhanced – apparently by making them bigger.

Facebook News Feed – extra feeds
Cancel your real world plans, you’re going to be busy – new feeds are coming. All Friends shows you everything that your friends are sharing, Photos has nothing but pics from your friends and Pages you like, Music has posts about the stuff you listen to, and Following has the latest news from Pages you like and people you follow. If it's possible to drown in FB news you'd better pack your scuba gear.

Facebook News Feed – cross-platform look
Facebook's newfangled design is going to be the same across mobile and the web – much like the site now is with that handy left-hand menu. You can also jump straight to the top of the News Feed when new stories arrive.
