Waterproof Samsung Galaxy S6 Active spotted in the wild wearing armour

The regular S6 not enough for your Xtreme shenanigans? This one will be

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are the best phones Samsung has ever made. Their premium metal and glass build feel great in the hands, and they’re a welcome change from the plastic-slathered handsets of old. Unlike the Galaxy S5 however, they’re not waterproof.

Traditionally, Samsung has always produced a rugged Active version of its flagship devices and it looks like the S6 is getting the same treatment this year.

A photo received by GSM Arena shows off a device equivalent to the regular S6 kitted out in a suit of armour, with what appears to be some seriously bulky shock-absorbing sides, and physical navigation buttons on the bottom.

The internals are unknown at this stage, but we expect to see the same Eynos processor, 3GB of RAM and 16MP camera found in its existing S6 brothers.

It’s unlikely to hours a fingerprint-scanning home button, and the speakers appear to have moved to the rear.

It will however apparently have a larger 3600mAh battery, which is good news for road warriors.

That’s all the information we have for the time being ahead of its official announcement, so stay tuned for pricing and release dates as soon as we get them.
