You’ve got a month to change your mind with Vodafone’s phone contract promise
No-questions-asked escape clause for anyone trying out Voda's network
A 12 month smartphone contract is just about as much commitment as most people can manage in 2016 – we blame Tinder.
You don’t have to hyperventilate over the thought of handing over your cash to a mobile network, though. Vodafone’s just announced a 30-day, no-questions-asked guarantee that’ll let you get out of a contract if you decide your signal isn’t up to scratch.
Maybe you’ve found a better deal somewhere else? Not a problem – Voda will still let you get out early and take your money elsewhere.
The deal is open to anyone taking out a new contract or smartphone bundle, meaning new customers, upgraders and anyone switching from PAYG to contract can get in on the action.
Business customers with fewer than 9 phone lines can qualify too, with 30 days to cancel each new line you add to your account.
Just keep in mind that anyone with Vodafone’s free Sky Now TV bundle will need to get in touch with Sky and cancel separately, or else get charged £6.99 a month.
Opt for the Spotify premium freebie instead? That’ll get cancelled automatically, so you don’t need to lift a finger.
That makes Vodafone the only network with a try-before-you-buy scheme. It’s a handy little extra that could help twist your arm if you’re struggling to pick a phone network.
You get it on top of the existing data test-drive deal, too – meaning you can use as much data as you like for 29 days then call time on the contract.
