Pop-up shops will have the OnePlus 3 for sale on 15 June

Watch the reveal, then pick up your phone the next day

We’re only a week away from the official OnePlus 3 reveal on 14 June, with the company set to debut the device via another VR presentation and then offer it immediately for sale within the VR store.

A couple of hours later, the phone will be available for purchase from OnePlus’ online store without an invitation, but you might be able to get the phone faster if you live in one of seven major cities around the world. That’s because OnePlus will host pop-up events in select locales on 15 June.

The most notable of the events is taking place in New York City at 7pm local time, as OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei will be in attendance. However, additional events are pegged for London, Paris, Berlin, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Bangalore. Based on the currently scheduled events, the Paris pop-up at 11am local time could be the first of the bunch to open.

According to OnePlus, the events will be fully open to the public and allow fans to check out the OnePlus 3 – and even buy the handset “right there and then.” It’s surely faster than waiting for shipping, even if you drop an order via the VR shop.

OnePlus also says that "exclusive swag will be up for grabs," so even if you’re not planning to buy the OnePlus 3 in a week’s time, anyone nearby a pop-up might want to give it a look and see what’s on offer.

Of course, the OnePlus 3 has already been properly exposed through a series of leaks and a Chinese regulations listing. You’ll catch a pristine glimpse of the phone up top via a leaked render, which was confirmed by the TENAA agency photos (above).

The listed specs suggest a 5.5in 1080p display, Snapdragon 820 chip, 4GB RAM, and a 3,000mAh battery pack, putting the OnePlus 3 very nearly on par with current flagships, plus an enhanced version with 6GB RAM is also expected to be released.
