Leaked HTC Desire Eye shows 13MP cameras on both front and back

Impressive specs, a serious selfie camera, and two-toned design prove appealing

HTC’s Double Exposure press event next week in New York City is already slated to have the RECamera action camera, and perhaps the enhanced HTC One (M8) Eye. Add one more to the pile.

Thanks to Twitter leaker @upleaks, we have apparent first images and specs for the HTC Desire Eye, which has 13-megapixel cameras on both the front and back of the device for excellent selfies and…well, photos of everything else.

According to the tweets, the device will have a 5.2in 1080p display, a quad-core 2.3Ghz Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. Also intriguing is a purported 2,400mAh removable battery on the handset.

And it’s stylish, to boot. While the Desire Eye promo images look a bit plastic in build, there’s a red and white (and black) version and a teal with navy option, delivering attractive, eye-catching, multicoloured designs.

Paired with the RECamera and the rumoured HTC One (M8) Eye, itself expected to have a 13MP Duo Camera upgrade, it’s likely that HTC’s big event will live up to its photo-centric billing – although we’re awaiting potential word on the rumoured HTC One (M8) Max phablet, as well.

Now, who wants an amazing selfie?
