Facebook app finally let loose on the iPad

11 Oct 2011

It's a little later than expected – having been widely slated to launch alongside the iPhone 4S – but the long-awaited official Facebook app for the iPad has finally been unleashed on Apple's tablet.

It's been rumoured to have been in the works for a while now – as evidenced when it was discovered in the iPhone app code – but now it's good to go, you can look forward to an iPad-centric user experience. So expect tabbed navigation, full screen photo albums, notifications, chat, and pinch to zoom functionality.

Gaming on the go has also been introduced, alongside a drop-down messaging option for the full Facebook experience.

Why has it taken so long? Apparently, "it just wasn't ready yet". Best of all, you won't have to access it in that dratted browser. Want it? Download it now.
