Infinity Blade for iOS made more profit than Gears of War, says creator Epic Games

Epic Games' CEO Tim Sweeney has revealed that Infinity Blade for iOS has provided the company with more profit than its biggest console game – Gears of War.

The original Infinity Blade title made more than US$1.6 million in its first four days of release and its sequel racked in an impressive US$5 million in its first month. The mobile franchise has also cashed in more than US$30 million in January alone – formidable stuff.

Although Infinity Blade is more profitable than Gears of War, it's worth noting that Gears had a lot more man-power, time and money pumped into it, hence its smaller overall profit.

Still, it's an impressive feat for mobile gaming and one that we're tempted to cash in on ourselves. Now if you'll excuse us, we're off to create our own finger-friendly blockbuster adventure – Renegade Gadgeteer and the curse of the 404 Error (title in progress).
