Sharp shows off monster 85in 8K TV at CES

7680 x 4320 resolution display is 16x the resolution of HD. The mind boggles

Sharp is showing off its next-generation technology at CES, the world’s biggest consumer electronics show – and it’s brought a truly mind-boggling TV along.

The 85in prototype 8K TV – previously seen at IFA – has a resolution of 7680 x 4320, the equivalent of 16x the resolution of HD. The TV is “likely” to feature 3D and Sharp’s Quattron colour tech, says our man on the ground. We’ll take two, then.
