Nokia Comes With Music going DRM free?

Nokia Comes With Music has been doing a roaring trade on a string XpressMusic and N–series cells. But its DRM–laden tracks remain a massiv

The fellas at NokNok have got hold of word from Nok’s Director of Global Digital Music Retail, Adam Mirabella, who says, “‘We have dialogues going with all of our partners and DRM-free is also on the roadmap for the future integration of ‘Comes With Music’.”

Now that doesn’t mean we’re looking at the service losing its protective shackles any time soon. But it is certainly a move in the right direction. While you can keep all the tracks you download during your year long subscription, you can’t transfer them onto a PMP or PC of your choice.

We’re keeping our fingers crossed for this one. With iTunes, Amazon and 7Digital all leading the way, surely Comes With Music is next. You can see Nok’s download service in action now in our hands–on video.
