There are two flagship models in the new range – the Archos 28 shown here and the Archos 101 10in tablet (you’ll find that on the next page). The 28 is really a PMP more than a tablet and has a 2.8in screen (the names obviously correspond to the screen sizes). It’ll come with homemade-by-Archos apps for video, music and photos and cost under £100 if you buy the 4GB version or £110 for 8GB.
The bigger screened Archos 32 has an 8GB belly, records video and will cost £130 when this pair launches in September.

In real tablet land, we’re also celebrating Archos dropping news of three Android slates – the 43, 70 and 101 (pictured), ranging from 4.3in to 10.1in, as the names suggest. From Archos’ slightly chaotic blurb, we can surmise that these all run on 1GHz guts and have Wireless-N connectivity (as well as supporting tethering). The two larger tablets also have a built-in webcam and all suport 720p video playback (also available through an HDMI out). The Archos 43 will have a 2MP snapper with HD video capture when it arrives in September for £200. The Archos 70 will cost £230 (8GB) or £270 (250GB) when it lands in October. And the Archos 101 will also arrive in October for £270 (8GB) or £300 (16GB). They’ll all have accelerometers built in, but it looks like Archos has missed out on Android Market again… there’s mention of the company’s home-baked (and half-baked) AppsLib store. Fingers crossed there’s a choice…
