Microsoft SkyDrive adds 7GB free storage to trounce Google and Apple

The free storage wars are upon us, as the battle for your choice of cloud storage intensifies – and Microsoft ups the ante to 7GB free storage with SkyDrive.

Hot on the heels of news that Google is more than doubling the free storage available on Google Docs to 5GB, Microsoft rallies with an extra 2GB, leaving Google and Apple trailing in the race to pick up cloud users.

And Dropbox, which offers 2GB free storage to new users, is crawling home last in this race of the big guns to host your online locker.
