JBL launches world's first Lightning Connector speaker docks

JBL has announced two Lightning Connector docks which will play nice with all new iDevices from the iPhone 5, iPad 4, iPod Touch 5G and iPad Mini.

First up is the JBL OnBeat Micro, a battery-powered affair for pumping out tunes in the office, park or bus – or wherever else you can get away with it without earning angry glares. An in-built USB connector lets you charge and play other devices too, plus there's a free companion music app for customised playlists, volume adjustment and album artwork browsing to boot.

The JBL OnBeat Venue LT on the other hand is a chunkier affair, more suited to the iPad Mini and iPad 4. Wireless streaming is on the cards thanks to Bluetooth support for up to eight devices, with the same free app available to download.

The JBL OnBeat Micro can be snapped up for £80, while the Venture LT can be yours for £200. Ideal for purists looking to ditch those pesky (and pricey) Lightning adapters.
