Samsung fans were beside themselves with excitement when the above leaked image on Know Your Mobile appeared to show off the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 – Sammy's whopping 5.5in follow-up to the already generously-proportioned Galaxy Note.

Sadly, it was not to be – according to the eagle-eyed folks at Android Central, the picture's actually a mock-up by a fan artist.

So it looks like we'll have to wait a while longer before we get to gaze on Samsung's monolithic new phone. In the mean time, feast your eyes on the Galaxy Note 2's rumoured spec list – a quad-core Exynos 4 Quad processor, 2GB of RAM and a 12 MP camera, plus an upgraded S-Pen stylus.

Even though the Galaxy Note 2 is staying under wraps for the time being, there's plenty for Samsung fans to get excited about – as long as they have ham hands and not dinky digits. Which are you? Let us know on Twitter.
