Nina brings Siri-style security to apps

Nuance, which powers Siri (and most other voice recognition tech), has announced Nina – a voice assistant for Android and iOS. But, unlike Siri, she can recognise you using voice biometrics to allow for secure access in apps, instantly.

While Nina is currently open for use in any app devs can dream up, her real potential lies in the future of mobile banking, allowing you to make payments by simply asking to transfer the money. Then the speech recognition, voice biometrics, and natural language understanding does the rest. USAA, a military financial service, is currently testing the software.

The Nina SDK is out now so if you’ve got an app that needs voice controlled security, look no further.
