Is this the largest Android device ever?

kouziro frontier ft103 android tablet

We’ve seen Android on all manner of odd devices, but Japanese company Kouziro has gone a step further in the craziness stakes by appearing to have shoehorned the OS into a television. And a 21.5-inch one at that.

The Frontier FT103 features a full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, 1GB of memory, 8GB of storage, Wi-Fi, webcam and a HDMI, USB and microSD card ports. That’s not too dissimilar a spec list to the average Android tablet, is it?

Obviously, lugging this around will be more of a challenge than, say, slipping the Google Nexus 7 into your manbag. In all honesty, we’d imagine the FT103 will be chiefly used as a semi-portable web browsing/video playing/app using device – not unlike an all-in-one touchscreen PC.

Basically, don’t expect to see an FT103 being whipped out on your morning commute, even if it does launch in the UK. It’s due to go on sale later this month in Japan, where it’ll cost 34,800 yen (around £280).
