Xbox 720 Durango is in London

Sneaky Microsoft has been showing off its next-gen console under cover, but Crytek lets slip the news

Microsoft has put the ‘soft’ in its name, organising a sneaky series of meetings with game developers in London while everyone’s distracted by Mobile World Congress. The aim? To give them some hands on time with the Xbox 720, codenamed Durango

Unfortunately games developer Crytek let the cat out of the bag, tweeting: “Enjoying the Durango developers summit in London. So far, great swag and interesting talks.” The tweet was hastily deleted, but the damage was done – using the Xbox 720’s Durango codename is a dead giveaway.

The developer summit is further evidence to support a previous claim by Crytek that the Xbox 720 Durango will be landing in 2012. Although last we heard 2013 was more likely for the Wii U style controller toting console with its amazing enhanced 3D graphics.
