Spotify gives newbies six months unlimited music

If they have a Facebook account, that is

We just don’t know where we stand with Spotify anymore. On one hand, new users get an unlimited music allowance for six months before the 10 hour a month and five plays per track limit kick in. But on the other hand, it turns out that you can no longer sign up for Spotify without a Facebook account – controversial.

However, we’re quite excited about clicking through to sample what our friends are listening to via Facebook’s new Ticker and existing Spotify users can carry on with their anti-social streaming as before. But is makes us wonder – what is Spotify going to tinker with next?
