Updates on the way for Apple's iOS 5 Notification Center?

A university student suggested some tweaks to iOS 5 – and was hired by Apple. What's he cooking up?

Apple overhauled its notifications system with iOS 5, but there's still plenty of room for improvement – and the company's newest intern has some ideas on that score.

Jan-Michael Cart, of the University of Georgia (and now Apple), has posted an online concept video showing suggestions for extra features for iOS 5's Notification Center.  Some of his suggestions – a persistent notifications badge in the information bar and third party widgets – we like a lot. Hopefully Apple thinks the same way.
