Looking like the mismatch of the year, Sony’s DAV-IS10 has paired this huge 200W sub, with five tiny satellites (yes, those are the little fellas, lined up in a row). But do not let their pint size proportions deceive you. Each one boasts ant-like size to strength ratios to pump out 50W of cinema sound apiece. The overall effect is a 450W rig that can blend commando-like into your living room – with only the sizeable sub and the DVD unit to show for itself. The main unit only spins DVDs (no Blu-ray at this price) but it does pack HDMI and upscales your old flicks to 1080i. It also has Sony’s own Digital Media Port for hooking up to the stylish, yet flawed, TDM-NC1 wireless music receiver and the audio-only TDM-IP1 iPod dock.Should look rather nice beneath our Bravia telly, just as soon as Sony sees fit to ship it here – it’s US only at the mo.

Sony DAV-IS10 Price: £TBA (July in US) On sale: TBA ($800 in US) Contact: Sony Related stories: Sony’s Bravia-loving Wi-Fi music box Sony Bravia hearts iPod LG delivers the little and large of home cinema
