Sony moves sat-nav to the big screen

How big is the screen on Sony's new sat-nav? How does 4.8in of 16:9 touchscreen grab you?It is massive – nearly an inch larger than TomTom's 910

How big is the screen on Sony’s new sat-nav? How does 4.8in of 16:9 touchscreen grab you?It is massive – nearly an inch larger than TomTom’s 910 beast – and slim too, at just 20mm deep.Like previous Sonys it gets PositionPlus motion sensors for keeping on track in areas of patchy sat signal (say, tunnels) and, our favourite, gesture control for speedy routing to preset favourites with just one sweep of the finger.Euro maps come as standard and TMC traffic info is on-board and Sony has also bumped up the processor for quicker calculations.A cheaper U82 is also available minus TMC and with UK-only mapping, but at £350 for the U92, we don’t think either model’s going to break the bank. TomTom better keep its eye on these two.
