Did LG just reveal the existence of a secret 8K iMac?

Quite possibly...

LG might have accidentally revealed the existence of an 8K iMac.

In a press release hyping up 8K and discussing its own 98in 8K TV, the South Korean tech giant mentioned that “Apple has also announced that they will release the iMac 8K with a super-high resolution display this year”.

LG manufactures the 5K display used in Apple’s existing 5K Retina Display iMac, so naturally the South Korean tech giant is in a better position than most when it comes to insider knowledge of Apple’s upcoming iMac range.

Whether or not this is a mistake on LG’s part, or simply inaccurate information remains to be seen, but the thought of an iMac with a 7680 x 4320 8 screen has our eyeballs feeling giddy, and our wallets shaking in our pockets.

There’s no mention of screen sizes or what kind of insane graphical hardware will be needed to push all those pixels as of yet, so we’re choosing to take this all with a pinch of salt for the time being, until we hear the news directly from Apple.
