Samsung Galaxy S III invitation

We’ve been waiting for what seems like an age for Samsung to finally reveal the successor to the Galaxy S II – and now it seems we have a date to look forward to: May 3rd.

According to Engadget, Samsung has started sending out invites to a May 3rd event in London. The invitation doesn’t mention the Samsung Galaxy S III by name – and for all we know it may end up being called something else – but does exhort recipients to “Come and meet the next Galaxy”. We’d wager our house, your house and your uncle’s house that it’s the S II’s follow-up we’ll be seeing them pull the wrappers off. The event will be streamed live on Facebook, according to the invite.

The Galaxy S III (or whatever it’s going to be called) is probably the most highly-anticipated Android phone around at the moment, and the internet has been speculating about its specs, features and design for months. Check out our rumour round-up for some of the possibilities.
