Griffin StudioConnect gets the Lightning treatment

Griffin StudioConnect Lightning

Griffin has brought its StudioConnect iPad connector dock up to date with Apple's new Lighting connector for iPad 4 and iPad mini.

Now with lightning compatibility, the compact iPad stand is stuffed with audio connections to turn your bedroom study into a virtual Abbey Road when paired with GarageBand or other recording apps.

Guitarists can record riffs straight to their iPads as the dock features both 1/4" mono and 3.5mm stereo audio inputs. Output is taken care of by a line-level stereo RCA audio out along with headphone jack with independent volume control for monitoring.

For musicians of a more electronic persuasion, it also features MIDI in and out for connecting samplers, keyboards, drum pads and similar.

The new dock will be available in the spring for $150, no UK pricing available yet. The older 30-pin version is  £120.

Also available by summer will be the Griffin MicConnect XLR-to-3.5mm adaptor and DJ Connect designed to work with algoriddim's djay and vjay apps.
