iCloud reveals banner notifications destined for OS X Mountain Lion

Remember when Apple borrowed its iOS Notification Centre from Android? Well, guess what? It looks like the iPhone maker is planning to bake those same handy notifications into OS X Mountain Lion, expected to be released at the Apple WWDC on June 11th.
According to Apple Insider, some users visiting iCloud.com have spotted the iOS-style notification seen in the picture above. Despite having placeholder text and not being active, it’s a sure sign that Apple is testing banner alerts for iCloud, and it could be a hint of what to expect in OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.
Although we’re hoping (possibly dreaming) that we’ll finally see a redesigned iPhone 5 at Apple’s June event, we’ll settle for now with the reassurance that a new version of OS X with handy new features is just over a month away. And maybe – just maybe – a new iPhone, too.
