The trailers you absolutely can’t miss from this year’s Comic-Con

Updated with the bonkers Suicide Squad trailer in sweet HD

San Diego Comic-Con, the event that every geek has marked down in his calendar.

It’s four days of no-holds-barred, non-judgemental geeking out over movies, television series, and comics. And given the hordes of devotees that descend upon San Diego at this time every year, it’s no wonder studios choose SDCC as the platform to show off the latest trailers.

There’s plenty to get excited about in the coming months. Here are our top picks.

Suicide Squad

Supervillains are the new superheroes, if the new star-studded Suicide Squad trailer is anything to go on. Set to the haunting cover of the BeeGees classic "I Started a Joke", the dark trailer shows the gathering of the antiheroes, a lot of badass strutting and even more action. Don't miss the killer shot of the Joker at the end. Could 2016 be the year we see DC Comics dethrone the long-reigning Marvel? We'll just have to wait and see in antsy anticipation.

Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice

Move over, Marvel, there’s another superhero showdown set to take centrestage. In this battle of good versus good, the question of who is better is what’s more important. Ben Affleck plays the Caped Crusader who fears the Man of Steel’s potential to turn evil (played by Henry Cavill). And while they’re busy duking it out over who’s better for mankind, a new threat surfaces... (no, not Wonder Woman).

The Walking Dead Season 6

Rick Grimes and company are still struggling to survive in this post-apocalyptic, zombie-infested world. You’d think a safe house would be easy to seek out, but that isn’t all that simple when the humans are scarier than the undead. New additions to the Alexandria community, a meeting with an old friend, and where morals are questioned time after time make this horror series still worth watching, six seasons on.
