Wii HD to have iPad-like touchscreen controller?

Rumours abound about Nintendo's next-gen console

It’s only been a few days since the Wii HD rumours began to resurface and now reports of the next-gen console’s controller are coming in – and it’s no Wiimote.

Word on the street is that Ninty’s new controller will be an iPad-like device, with buttons and an HD screen. Sounds interesting (albeit an ergonomic nightmare) and could lead to some innovative control systems. Maybe even a microphone, for some full-on DS-style silliness.

Couple that with the rumoured triple-core CPU and the next iteration of the Wii looks set to dominate the market once again. Sony and Microsoft, it’s your move.
