This will be the ninth Gumball rally, but the format is largely unchanged: car enthusiasts with money to burn have a week to cover 3000 miles of the world’s best road in the world’s fastest cars. This year, the course takes in Amsterdam and Frankfurt before all cars and drivers fly to Instanbul. From there, they drive on to Thessolaniki, Athens, Tirana, Dubrovnik, Bratislava, Berlin and Oschersleben, before arriving back in London on 5 May to have a big party. Phew.As always, there are a number of celebs peppering the driving ranks. Hayden Christensen (y’know, the guy who turned Darth Vader into a big pansy), Jay Kay of Jamiroquai, Caprice and Xzibit (can’t wait to see his car) will all be in attendance, along with several other familiar faces. We’ll be driving over to Frankfurt with a host of toys in our big, fast Subaru Impreza WRX, ably assisted by CoPilot Live 7 running on a T-Mobile MDA Compact III. We’ll be blogging as we go, so stay tuned to Live Stuff to find out just how slow a rally car can go.You’ll also be able to track our progress here. Look towards the back of the pack.If you want to get a live-action flavour of the proceedings, pop to Pall Mall between 1pm and 4pm on Sunday 29th and prepare to be utterly wowed by the vehicles on display.
