Star Wars 1313 game dies as Disney kills LucasArts
Not only is the most graphically awesome Star Wars game ever never coming but LucasArts is shut down all together
No doubt you’ve already felt that great disturbance in The Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. That was the death of LucasArts at the hands of Disney.
As if that wasn’t bad enough it’ll also mean the death of next generation games like Star Wars 1313. Check out the trailer below to see why that’s got us so sad. But there is a bright side – LucasFilm is licencing the Star Wars brand so external game makers can develop titles. While 1313 was punted out there to be finished by someone else apparently it’s not looking good.
Imagine Naughty Dog, of Unchartered fame, making a Star Wars game. Suddenly Disney’s decision seems a whole lot better.
