Sky+ HD is getting its own 3D TV channel by 2010, showing movies, entertainment and sports in a whole extra dimension.
The media giant has just announced that following 3D TV trials on Sky+HD earlier in the year, it will soon be offering a whole channel dedicated to varoius 3D offerings. Of course, you’ll need a 3D TV to be able to watch this new content, but it’s a bold statement from the company concerning the viability of the 3D format.
As well as the 3D TV offering, Sky+ HD customers are also promised n increase in HD channels of up to 50 channels, an expansion of Sky Anytime and an all-new “pull” VoD (video on demand) service.
The VoD service is also touted for a 2010 release, and will sit alongside the “push” Anytime content, using the existing Ethernet connection on the back of the box
