Omega releases the new James Bond watch and it’s completely shaken things up – here’s how to buy it

Omega has just made the James Bond video game watch a reality – and it might be the most exciting Seamaster in years

Omega has just unveiled the Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph 007 First Light. It’s the real-world version of the watch at the centre of the upcoming Bond video game, 007: First Light, and it’s safe to say – this watch has the licence to thrill.

This is the first Seamaster chronograph ever made for Bond, so that alone makes it historic.

The watch was created in collaboration with IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios, the teams behind the game.

The game itself sounds amazing – following a 26-year-old Bond in a reimagined origin story (complete with an amazing Lana Del Ray theme song).

The Seamaster sits at the heart of it – equipped in-game with laser and hacking capabilities. Now you can wear that watch in real life…

The Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph 007 First Light features a 44mm stainless steel case and comes with a polished black ceramic bezel and matching ceramic pushers. It’s a bold take on the Seamaster Chronograph, and might be my favourite model yet.

The black dial carries the classic laser-engraved wave pattern, but a bronze gold PVD subdial ring at 3 o’clock gives it a warm, more luxurious feel.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with laser and hacking capabilities.

Inside is Omega‘s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9900. That’s the brand’s highest standard for precision, performance, and magnetic resistance. You can see it through the sapphire caseback, which also carries a ‘007 First Light’ logo etched in black.

The strap is worth talking about, too. The watch ships with an exclusive NATO in black, grey, and beige, the same colourway as the No Time to Die watch (one of the best Bond watches ever made), just with a different pattern.

It also gets 007 and First Light engravings on the keepers, which is a nice touch.

Six further NATO options are available seperately, each based on playable in-game versions.

The whole thing arrives in a presentation box designed to look like the suitcase that carries the watch inside the game.

I’ve been looking forward to this one since Omega first teased the virtual design back in October. Seeing it move from a gadget in a trailer to a real watch you can actually buy is really cool (we’ve seen Hamilton do something similar with Death Stranding, Call of Duty and Resident Evil). I think its a great way to open up watch collecting to a whole new audience.

How to buy…

The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph 007 First Light is available to buy now from Omega Boutiques and Omega’s website. It’s priced at $9400 in the US and £7900 in the UK.

007: First Light launches worldwide on May 27th
