LG monitor Rings fashionista bells

Something disturbing is happening in the world of computer monitors – they’re becoming desirable, and we don’t quite know how to react. Only last week Asus befuddled us with its 19in gaming monitor, and now LG has followed suit with this ‘Ring’ character.

It’s easy to see how the L1900R got its nickname – its stand contains a huge hole that looks like the T1000’s shotgun wound in Terminator 2. Sure, it’s not exactly high art, but this is considered outlandish behaviour in monitor-ville.

The Ring’s spec will also impress gamers whose eyes lit up at the sight of the Asus PG191 (see link below). For starters, there’s a 1280x1024 pixel resolution, which, combined with the DVI input, will let you light it up with the joys of hi-def content.

The lack of an HDMI prohibits it from befriending your Sky HD box, but the speedy 4ms response time and a 2000:1 contrast ratio mean it’s primed for fast-moving action in games like Half Life. We’ve cleared a space for one on our desks already.
