Minds can get unnecessarily boggled deciding which combination of tech deserves to be the hub of their TV watching and recording life, but Humax has just unveiled one of the better all-in-one solutions we’ve seen – this 32in LCD with built-in PVR.

The LP32-TDR1 builds on the company’s convergence tradition, and now adds a special something that’s been lacking in previous models – an HDMI socket for high-def boxes like Sky HD.

Even if you choose to ignore this handy addition, you’ll hardly be short of things to watch. The built-in PVR has twin Freeview tuners, which means you can record flicks from Film Four while relaxing to some E4 Music.

Storage is a whopping 160GB, which is enough for 100 hours of selections from the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG), and lets you do all the usual neighbour-impressing tricks like pausing and rewinding live telly.

It’s also due in shops this Bank Holiday weekend for a fantastic £900, which means you can chuck your CRT in the skip, fire up your vibrating Armed Chair and sit back for a few days of well deserved slumping.
