EXCLUSIVE: Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 benchmarked
New giant tablet is faster than a Galaxy S4 but not up with the Note 3
We’ve been a bit naughty. While no one was looking we downloaded AnTuTu Benchmark to one of the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2s on Samsung’s CES stand and just had time to run the test and sneak off with the results like a nerdy ninja.
It’s clear in operation that this is a speedy device, and that’s borne out by the benchmarks, with the overall score of 29,693 putting it just ahead of Samsung’s own Galaxy S4. It’s perhaps a little disappointing that it’s still a long way off the mighty Note 3, though, which still sits pretty at the top of AnTuTu’s power chart.
Which processor?
A closer look at the results reveals it’s the 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800-toting LTE version of the Note Pro that we had our grubby mitts on (the 3G version comes with a 1.9GHz Exynos 5 Octa processor). There’s also 3GB of RAM built-in and an Adreno 330 GPU pumping the pixels out to the rather lovely 12.2in 2560×1600 display.
It’s always possible that the performance will be tweaked and optmised before the Note Pro hits shops in the next couple of months, but we reckon these scores will end up being pretty darn close to those of the final samples.
