Microsoft Surface Mini outed by Amazon listing

Mid-May release looking likely for smaller edition of Microsoft’s tablet

A Surface Mini tablet could be about to “drop” – at least, that’s what an Amazon listing suggests.

Electronics wholesaler VSTN posted a smart cover case for a “Microsoft Surface Mini” device to Amazon.com earlier this week, saying it should be in stock on 18th May.

8in screen and a stylus?

ZDNet believes that, while the image used in the listing is a placeholder (likely the upcoming 8in Lenovo Windows tablet), the Surface Mini is indeed due to be launched in the next few weeks.

Back in September of last year, we heard rumours that a Surface Mini was being designed and would sport Windows 8.1 RT and either a 7in or 8in screen. ZDNet also predicts that it will come with a digitising pen stylus.

We’ll keep a beady eye out for more signs of an impending Surface Mini touchdown.
