Samsung Galaxy S3 processor revealed

You wanted quad-core brains behind the wheels of Sammy's newest pocket powerhouse? You got it

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is Samsung’s new flagship Android smartphone, taking the crown over from the Galaxy S II and pitting itself head-to-head against the likes of the impressive HTC One X and its mighty Tegra 3 quad-core processor.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 looks set to give the One X a run for its money in the power department by packing in Samsung’s home-grown 1.4Ghz Exynos 4 quad-core processor, which was already confirmed by the company pre-launch.

Although it’s far too early to confirm till our extensive review, leaked benchmarks for the Samsung Galaxy S3’s Exynos 4 quad-core processor imply that it’s even more powerful than Qualcomm’s dual-core Snapdragon S4 and Nvidia’s Tegra 3 processors.

Either way, we expect the Samsung Galaxy S3 to churn through Ice Cream Sandwich, games and apps without breaking a sweat.
