Lenovo Yoga 900 is the world’s thinnest convertible laptop

Bend it, twist it, any way you want it

Remember the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro, the convertible laptop with a watchband hinge that let you turn the screen all the way around, transforming it into a tablet? Lenovo’s just revealed a new one.

The Yoga 900, as it’s now called, is touted (very specifically) as the world’s thinnest Intel Core i convertible laptop, measuring in at 14.9mm thin, and weighing just 1.29g.

Its instantly recognisable hinge has been improved, with over 800 individual pieces working together, resulting in a smoother action.

Having spent some time with the Yoga 900 ourselves, we found the build quality to be nice and stable, though the actual look of the hinge might not be to everyone’s taste. We quite like it however, especially on the gold coloured option, which makes it stand out even more.

Hinge aside, the 900 features a 13.3in QHD screen, and can be specced up to have an Intel i7 processor, with optional dedicated Nvidia GeForce 940 graphics and 16GB of RAM. The battery has also been given a boost, and is now 50% denser, promising up to nine hours of solid video playback.

The Lenovo Yoga 900 will be available in orange, silver and champagne gold in the second half of October, starting at €1300.
