ITV to launch Shazam-enabled ads

ITV and Shazam have announced that they'll be working together to beam Shazam-friendly ads to our tellies.

The new ads will let smartphone users fire up Shazam and offer them the chance to enter competitions, get extra info about products and download free music.

Sounds rather neat, though we'd rather broadcasters invested in tech that didn't rudely raise the volume during breaks. Could you sort that out first please, guys?

Good idea, sometimes I hear a song but can't Shazam because of the voiceovers or it's too short. Maybe better still is that Sonic thingy that was reviewed a couple of months ago. That app was awesome but nom content (yet).
