Apple planning iCloud movie streaming service

Apple iCloud

Apple is negotiating with with Hollywood studios in a bid to add movies to its iCloud service. At the moment, you can stream your music and photos using iCloud, but if you want to stream movies, you're out of luck.

The LA Times and Wall Street Journal report that Apple is close to finalising deals with Hollywood studios that would enable it to turn iCloud into a rival to movie-streaming services Netflix and Redbox.

Apple's planned service would enable you to buy a movie through iTunes and stream it to any of your iDevices – without having to sync them. And since syncing movies is an enormous pain, we hope Apple and the studios hurry up and agree a deal soon.
