Talex GPS review

The Talex GPS offers speed cam detection and a ‘safe driving’ mode that alerts you to accident blackspots, schools, speed and red-light cameras

This black box offers up a heady mix of speed cam detection and a neat ‘safe driving’ mode that alerts you to accident blackspots, schools, speed and red-light cameras. Everything’s constantly updated through a subscription service.

Getting started is simple, too: you just one cable from ciggie lighter to unit.

We reacted well to the Talex’s smart voice instruction, although were initially irritated by its constant chirruping – switching to ‘speed cam only’ mode alleviates this problem.

During several outings with the Talex, we managed to avoid any flashes. Even that bloody cam on the A3 that no-one seems to know about.
