No lounge (or living room, if you’re posh) is complete without a sexy-looking hi-def flatscreen – and thankfully Sony has given us a few more options by showing off its spanking new Bravia sets.

The standout is the 1080p WE5, which is available in 40in or 46in guises. Sony is claiming it’s an eco-friendly telly, with its backlight tech consuming around 50% less power than your average LCD.

The WE5 even switches off when you’re not in the room, and Sony thinks it’s so easy to use that it hasn’t even printed a manual, saving a few trees in the process. Performance should be solid too, with 100Hz processing and 4 HDMI ports.

If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, there are plenty of other new sets to choose from. There’s the entry-level S5500 series, the networked V5500 range with DLNA connectivity, the bedroom 22in E5300 and, to top things off, the stylish, piano-black W5500 gang. Decisions, decisions.
