Amazon Kindle Touch gets landscape mode for UK launch

Translation tools, social sharing, and multi-language support are also hidden in the Kindle Touch's latest update

The Amazon Kindle Touch, as we reported, is landing in the UK on April 27th – but what’s even more exciting is the 5.1.0 update it’ll be bringing.

The new software will bring multi-lingual support (including a ‘tap to translate word’ function), landscape orientation, expanded Wi-Fi support, word suggestions when typing, and even the ability to share what you’re reading on Twitter and Facebook. And for those who can’t be bothered to read it’ll even read out English text to you. All great extras that almost justify the extra 70g weight over the original Kindle.

All these updates come on both the 3G and Wi-Fi Kindle Touch versions, which will cost £169 and £109 respectively.
