It’s most definitely open season when it comes to DSLRs. After Canon officially unveiled their rather tasty EOS 5D Mark II last week and Sony handed over their A900, now it’s the turn of Pentax t wow us with their high–end powers.
The new K–m DSLR (or the K2000 as it’s also known) is touted as a snapper for punters new to all this top–notch lark. That means you get some straight forward auto modes, a pleasingly small 0.2MP sensor and a 2.7in screen round the back for checking on your handiwork.
On top of that you get shake reduction, a dust removal system and ISO up to 3200. It might not be the Canon we all dream of, but then this isn’t exactly aimed at blokes who hang out outside Pixie Geldof’s gaff until 4am.
UK prices haven’t been released yet, but with photography fans Stateside getting a lens bundle for about $700, expect something similar on these shores very soon.
