With the memory-munching SD1 hi-def camcorder already out and the SD5 on the way, Panasonic has wheeled out the memory cards that'll be satiating their 1080i appetites.Appearing in time for the SD5's launch will be an 8GB SDHC card capable of holding three hours of full 1920x1080i AVCHD video or a mere 3080 10MP photos – should just about cover a stag weekend in Tallinn or two.For lesser video and photo fiends there'll be 1GB, 2GB and 4GB versions with the same speedy 20MB per second write time that modern apparatus – like our quick-snapping Panny FZ18 (pictured) – demands. But if all that sounds like small fry then just wait a few months, because the Panasonic boys are promising a 16GB card before the year is out. After all, why have two 8GB cards when you can have 6160 photos on just one?Essentials Panasonic RP-SDV08GU1K 8GB Price: £100 On sale: September Contact: Panasonic Related stories: Panny's true HD cams shoot for Europe Sony's new 133x CompactFlash cards Panny camcorder eats extra fat SD cards
